Meet Christy

Christy Brady has dedicated her career to protecting the citizens of Philadelphia from fraud, waste, and abuse, and improving the effectiveness of government operations. With nearly 30 years of experience in the Philadelphia Office of the City Controller, Christy first began her career as an entry level auditor under City Controller Jonathan Saidel and worked her way up the ladder to Deputy Controller of Audit under City Controller Alan Butkovitz. She was the first female to hold that title and to lead the largest division in the Controller’s Office. Christy lives in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia with her husband and three children. She grew up in Olney where she attended St. Ambrose Elementary School. Christy volunteers in the community with the Scouts, her children’s elementary and high schools, and also coaches softball, soccer, and basketball. She continues to play soccer in a women’s league in Parkwood.

Christy's Priorities

Throughout her career as a public servant, Christy Brady brought people together to solve tough problems and delivered results for the citizens of Philadelphia. Now, Christy is running to be Philadelphia’s next City Controller – to move our city forward and tackle our biggest challenges. With first hand knowledge of the capabilities and resources of the office, Christy will immediately implement the steps necessary to achieve her vision. Safer neighborhoods, economic opportunity, and educational excellence can all be realized while improving government efficiencies and increasing revenues.

Christy will lead audits, financial analysis, and investigations that can improve the safety of our neighborhoods and the education of our children while having a positive economic impact on the citizens and city finances. Her 3 main focuses are on the underground economy, the gun violence crisis, and the opioid and drug crisis.
